A boat trip on Lake Zell

One free roundtrip (approx. 1 hour) with MS Schmittenhöhe around the lake. Plus unlimited use of the smaller boats. Enjoy the beautiful landscape of the mountains and the glaciers of the National Park "Hohe Tauern". The boarding station is only a few minutes' walk from Steinerwirt.

The Reservoirs Kaprun

Special bus shuttles will comfortably take you to the Mooserboden reservoir, situated at an altitude of 2,000 metres. There, you can participate in a guided tour of the barrage wall or gain an insight into the adventure exhibition featuring the eternal ice of the glacier world. The breathtaking landscape all around you invites you to walks and hikes.

Public Beach Clubs Zell am See

Enjoy the crystal clear water of the lake in one of the public beach clubs around the lake. Usually, the lake has a temperature suited for swimming from the end of June to the beginning of September. The closest public beach is only a 5 minutes's walk from Steinerwirt.

Kitzsteinhorn Glacier

1 free access to the top of the Kitzsteinhorn glacier. Great views more than 10,000 ft. above sea level. Weekly guided tours to the top of the glacier. We recommend: discover the new "Gletscherwelt 3000" with Salzburg's highest panorama platform, Ice Arena and National Park Gallery!

Water Falls in Krimml

Feel the energy of Europe`s highest water falls! After an hour walk, you can experience one of nature's most powerful phenomena. Continue even further, and hike across the scenic valley on top of the water falls. A great adventure for hikers and nature afecionados!

Animal Park Ferleiten

Unlimited access to one of Austria's most scenic animal parks. 200 wild animals live in a generous area of over 200,000 square feet. The Grossglockner, Austria's highest peak, provides the scenery. Sigmund Thun Gorge Kaprun

Free access to the gorge. For thousands of years, the water from the glacier has forced its way through the 100 ft high gorge. Originally opened in 1893, the 400 yards long walking path through the gorge has recently been renovated.

Family Mountain Maiskogel

The cable car brings you from Kaprun to the family mountain Maiskogel. There, nice hiking paths await for you. Enjoy the beautiful panorama of the mountains! We recommend: the children's zoo next to the terrace of the restaurant Maiskogelalm.

Kitzlochklamm Gorge

Free access to the gorge, located in Taxenbach, about 10 minutes' drive from Zell am See. The tunnels and paths were originally built in the 16th century. We recommend: talk the walk to the romantic ermitage.

Vorderkaserklamm Gorge

Each of the gorges has a unique beauty to themselves. Vorderkaserklamm Gorge is located in St. Martin bei Lofer, a short 25 minutes' drive from Zell am See. With a depth of 300 feet, it is the deepest of the gorges and it features the most interesting plants and flowers. We recommend: the orchid walk!

Seisenbergklamm Gorge

Seisenbergklamm Gorge in Weissbach, the neighoring town of St. Martin features a nice walk for children which is also accessible with baby strollers. It was originally built by lumber jacks who used the water to transport lumber from the mountains to the valley.
