The history of the Steinerwirt
The old stone walls, which honour the name of the hotel, have already seen a lot. Registered at number 3, the Steinerwirt is one of the oldest houses in Pingzau. The sense of tradition of its owners is therefore no coincidence. In the year 1350, the house was used as a ‘whole weinlehen’ (a property with around 5 acres of farmland), later in 1622, it gained limited permission for housing guests. That was the beginning. From then on, many generations of passionate landlords carried the house through history, expanding and accommodating contented guests from near and far. The centuries of experience and passion for the hospitality industry are rooted in the floors and walls of the house. This you can feel as soon as you enter the Steinerwirt for the first time. The house was completely renovated in 2005 and since 2016, the new hosts Julia Haidinger and Simon Schuster carry the torch. As your hosts, they take care of the well-being of their guests alongside their team. Having operated here for many years, the team knows its way around the Steinerwirt and the region around Zell am See like the back of their hand. A connection to the area and the hotel, which one appreciates as a guest.
