Ski resort Zell am See – Kaprun – Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang
New, starting winter 2019/20: The Schmitten connects with the Glemmtal valley
With the construction of Section I of the zellamseeXpress, Schmittenhöhe will create an attractive connection with the Skicircus from winter 2019/2020. This sets the course for a new ski dimension and creates one of the largest and most diverse ski areas in Austria. After the opening of section II of the zellamseeXpress in winter 2016/17, section I is imminent! Guests in Viehhofen will thus have new access to the Schmittenhöhe panorama and family ski area – including parking spaces, bus connections, sports shop, ticket office and information centre. The descent to Viehhofen is easy with the section I of the zellamseeXpress or on one of the two ski routes.
A direct and comfortable connection between the Skicircus and the valley station of the zellamseeXpress is offered by the fantastic natural snow run 68 from the Polten lift towards Viehhofen. The next step for a comfortable and direct connection to the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn is the construction of a cable car from Viehhofen towards Saalbach. This would place the Pinzgau ski resorts in the ranks of the world’s largest ski regions. From the 2019/20 winter season onwards, the “Ski Alpin Card” can be used to comfortably cover 408 kilometres of pistes in the panoramic and family ski area of Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See, in the glacier ski area of Kitzsteinhorn-Kaprun and in the ski circus of Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn. The connection with the bus line 680 from Viehhofen to the Schönleitenbahn as well as with the well developed ski bus shuttle system from the valley station in Viehhofen is guaranteed until the complete merger.
